Now for my "favourite" part of the project: painting a semi-clean/shiny body..........

After having really tried my best, and after having stripped and retried three times, I decided to outsource the body. I resolved not to do shiny/clean finishes on anything bigger than 1/24 scale cars, or 1/9 scale bikes. 

To add an additional financial punch to my sense of failure, I drove over a piece of carpet blade on my way to hand the body over. The gash was too long to repair, and I had to replace a relatively new tyre (15,000km) with a new one. Ouch.
