Turn. Don't Burn.

It's as easy as

The most iconic Mad Max car must surely the black, supercharged 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe, known as the "Pursuit Special," a heavily modified Australian muscle car featuring a massive hood-scooped blower, side pipes, and aggressive spoilers, transforming it from a standard police interceptor into a post-apocalyptic symbol of speed and survival, evolving with the films into different iterations. I will attempt to model it along the lines of the one used in Mad Max 2 (released as The Road Warrior in the United States).

To help set the vibe, I considered adding a movie poster but decided against it for fear of reprisals etc. for copyright infringement etc..... It won't affect the build story anyway!

This a commission build in 1/8th scale.

The client had the parts FDM-3D printed and provided all the parts in a clear plastic container. The main body has not been printed very well (FDM leaves serious lines!) but thankfully I don't want a smooth finish.

Here's a picture from the internet that doesn't seem to have a copyright.... ->

(Of course, my result won't be shiny!!)

Now to re-watch the movie for reference purposes!

The FDM 3D prints were terrible. I was able to fix the wheels, and the client's buddy was able to smooth the body. Still, the body segments did not fit and he decided to cancel the project.

UPDATE:

The client has spoken to the printer. he will see what went wrong and try producing a decent set of prints. So: we'll see what happens.......

UPDATE:

The client has found a different printer and he has reprinted the parts. They seem to fit well, but I am too busy with other projects (including carpentry) to get to this now. Will update further when I get to it.
