Completed December 2017
This build had a real surprise end result.
While trawling the internet for ideas one evening, I chanced upon a photo of an abandoned car in the jungle. (Pictured on the right).
This photo inspired me to no end and, as I had an incomplete kit that would be perfect, I set out to make a diorama along those lines. I have no idea who the kit manufacturer was, all I know is it was scale1/25th.
I quickly progressed with the planning and making of the base by gluing cut pieces of corrugated cardboard together to give the desired slope..

For some or other reason, I did not take any pictures of the build. Maybe this was because it was such a simple build!? Which is probably also why I didn’t really like it much?
Anyway, here are some pics of the finished product. (spot the rabbit….)
I finished the build, put it in the cabinet and did not think of it again. Our National competition came around, and a buddy of mine convinced me to enter it. Lo and behold: it took first place in the diorama category! To this day, it is not my favourite and I am thinking to convert it to a shadowbox diorama…. Maybe I’ll like it more then?
