The stories I could tell... '37 Ford

Completed August  2019

This was a fun little diorama, for which I used the Revell 37 Ford Pickup. (Scale 1:25). The diorama consists of the kit (that I modified and enhanced a bit), scratch built items, and also a few things that I had 3D printed.

As always, I started with the base…..

Finally putting it all together….

First make it look new .................... then mess it up.

I used cat hair for the rat's whiskers.

Then I moved on to making the kit…..

The seat spring coils were individually made from 0.3mm jeweller's binding wire.

This truck is that it started out as a blue truck, which was later painted red. Then, with time, the red faded in the sun and the bodywork rusted.

To get this effect, I first painted a base coat of Rust-Oleum brown camoflage.

Then applied a blue coat and, using the salt technique, I achieved the patchy, rusted look.

I then applied red, salt technique, followed by a LIGHT white overcoat to make the red look faded.
